About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Reliability Engineer to join our team at Intelsat. As a key member of our Network Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting network automation and orchestration solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the design, implementation, and support of network automation and orchestration solutions.
- Deploy and maintain software and applications required for those solutions across the Intelsat network infrastructure and its services.
- Analyze day-to-day tasks performed by Network Engineering teams and demonstrate how they can be improved by automation and/or programmability.
- Treat the network as code and adopt a culture of continuous integration, continuous deployment, and continuous response.
- Practice 'management-by-metrics' where analytics and deep-learning through rigorous data collection are imperative.
- Represent the department as a technical SME and build a feedback loop between various cross-functional teams within Network Engineering.
- Provide proactive leadership to mentor and coach guidance to all team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar discipline with at least 5 years of network and/or systems experience.
- Subject matter expertise in IP Network Administration or Systems Administration.
- Intermediate level understanding of software implementation and/or application deployment methodologies.
- Intermediate level understanding and/or implementation of network architectures, best practices, and protocols.
- Experience with reading and manipulating modeling, data serialization, and encoding formats.
- Experience in reading, dissecting, and consuming Application Programming Interfaces (API's) in a RESTful architecture.
- Experience with high-level programming and/or scripting in Python, Go, and/or Shell.
- Experience with IT automation tools such as Ansible.
