Procurement Specialist Role

We are seeking a seasoned Procurement Specialist to oversee procurement activities and drive strategic sourcing initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying reliable vendors, negotiating cost-effective purchases, ensuring timely availability of raw materials, consumables, and services required for smooth manufacturing operations, while maintaining quality and compliance standards.

  • Procurement & Sourcing Strategy
    • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to ensure uninterrupted supply of goods and services.
    • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and negotiate contracts that meet our business needs.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and manage the supplier base.
  • Vendor Performance Management
    • Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, cost, and delivery timelines to ensure alignment with our business objectives.
    • Negotiate contract terms and payment conditions to optimize costs and improve service levels.
    • Maintain accurate records of vendor performance and provide regular reporting to stakeholders.
  • Purchase Operations Management
    • Oversee the procurement process from request to receipt, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of procurement activities with business operations.
    • Monitor inventory levels and work with suppliers to optimize stock management practices.
  • Cost Optimization Strategies
    • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to reduce procurement expenses without compromising quality or service levels.
    • Analyze market trends and benchmark prices to identify opportunities for bulk or long-term contracts.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
    • Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards in all procurement activities.
    • Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities, including supply chain disruptions and non-compliance.
  • Business Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to drive mutually beneficial partnerships.
    • Foster open communication and collaboration with suppliers to address any issues or concerns.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems / MS Office.
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Vendor relationship management.
  • Cost-conscious with attention to detail.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce / Supply Chain / Engineering / Management.
  • 2–5 years of experience in procurement/purchase in a manufacturing/industrial setup.
  • Knowledge of local and international sourcing preferred.
