Senior HVAC Design Lead

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior technical resource and advisor for the team, providing expert input to studies and designs.
  • Develop procedures to facilitate high-quality work by others, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables, contributing to the development of engineering budgets and schedules.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure project requirements are met and designs are effectively implemented.
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering their professional development and technical expertise.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate HVAC designs with other building systems, conducting energy modelling and analysis to optimise system performance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience working in Mechanical Engineering design, with a focus on HVAC systems for healthcare facilities.
  • Proven track record in designing Healthcare, residential, commercial, retail, and hospitality sectors.
  • Advanced knowledge of software applications including IES, HAP, Trace, Elite, MEP Revit, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • In-depth understanding of healthcare-specific HVAC requirements, including infection control and air quality management.
  • Familiarity with relevant healthcare standards and regulations in the UK and UAE, such as HTM 03-01 and ASHRAE Standard 170.
