Incident Response Specialist

At ValueLabs, we are seeking a highly skilled Incident Response Specialist to join our team. As an integral part of our IT Security operations, this role will provide end-to-end support for incident response and threat management.
Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 per year
Key Responsibilities:
• Alert Triage & Escalated Response: Investigate and validate alerts to determine the severity and impact of incidents.
• Data Enrichment: Collect and analyze data from various sources to enhance incident response efforts.
• Business Contextualization: Provide context to stakeholders regarding active incidents and threats.
• Remediation Coordination and Closure: Coordinate with teams to remediate incidents and ensure closure through integrated L1-L4 detection and response functions.
• Event Correlation: Identify and correlate security events to improve incident response efficiency.
• Malware Analysis: Analyze malware samples to understand their behavior and impact on systems.
• Contextual Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of incidents to identify root causes and areas for improvement.
• Incident Management: Manage incidents from initial declaration to closure, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Alert Validation & Disposition: Validate and dispose of alerts based on severity levels (Severity 1-3).
• Initial Incident Declaration: Declare incidents promptly and accurately, providing critical information for swift response.
• Incident Response Coordination: Coordinate incident response efforts with internal teams and external partners.
• End-to-End IT Security Operations: Provide comprehensive IT security support, including incident response, threat management, and security operations.
• Investigate, Document, and Report: Investigate and document information security issues, emerging trends, and best practices for future reference.
• SIEM Event Correlation, Log Management, Signature & Malware Analysis: Utilize SIEM tools to correlate events, manage logs, and analyze malware signatures.
• Spam Monitoring & Email Protection, Analysis & Threat Remediation: Monitor spam emails, protect users from threats, and remediate email-borne attacks.
• False Positives & Rule Suppression / Whitelisting: Identify and suppress false positives, while implementing whitelisting measures to prevent unauthorized access.
• End User Threat Management: Protect users from endpoint threats, ensuring secure and uninterrupted system performance.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in incident response, threat management, or security operations.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks, regulations, and industry standards.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with SIEM tools, log management, and malware analysis.
• Familiarity with business contextualization and remediation coordination.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
