Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation: Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing as directed by the Chef de Partie. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of cooking techniques and food preparation methods.
Cooking Assistance: Assist with basic cooking tasks, such as sautéing, grilling, boiling, or frying, under supervision. You will work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively to meet service demands.
Section Rotation: Work in various kitchen sections such as sauces, vegetables, fish, and butchery to gain diverse culinary skills and experience. You will be able to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a positive kitchen atmosphere.
Maintaining Kitchen Standards: Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, ensuring that the kitchen is always clean and organized. This includes safe handling of food and cleaning duties.
Equipment Use: Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, such as knives, ovens, grills, and mixers. Regular stock management is crucial, and you will need to report any shortages or equipment malfunctions.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the rest of the kitchen team to ensure efficient kitchen operations and smooth service. You will adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
