About the Role & Team

We are building to accelerate growth. At scale, Urban Company will be delivering 10 million services monthly, with a single-day peak of 500 thousand services. A highly trained base of 200 thousand service professionals will drive this expansion. Technology plays a critical role in achieving this goal, requiring us to adopt a Tech First approach. This means processes should be autonomous via code, decision-making should be embedded with technology, and tech should enable compounding effects.

The key drivers for innovation in the next two-three years are:

  • Digital Supply Creation: digitized creation of a skilled, loyal supply base

What You Will Do:

  1. Work on complex architectural problems
  2. Think about abstractions, systems, and services; write high-quality code
  3. Identify potential loopholes in current systems/architecture that could break in the future and collaborate with stakeholders to address these issues
  4. Develop robust platforms to serve multiple categories and flows, solve for scale, and create internally built services to cater to growing needs

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of experience in the industry, solving complex problems from scratch, and holding a graduate or postgraduate degree from top-tier universities
  • Able to build scalable, sustainable, reliable, and secure products based on past experience and lead teams and projects independently
  • Able to introduce new practices, architectural choices, and initiatives to enhance the overall tech stack's robustness
  • Familiarity with server-side architecture based on APIs, databases, infrastructure, and systems
  • Responsible for owning the technical roadmap for systems/components
