Description: We are seeking a skilled Podcast Ad Operations Manager to lead the development of our AdOps Department. In this role, you will be responsible for managing ad inventory, providing accurate impression forecasts for the sales team, overseeing campaign performance to optimize delivery, and ensuring timely reports for our advertisers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Impression Forecasting: Utilize data from Megaphone and Flight Path to provide accurate, real-time impression forecasts, enabling our sales team to sell with confidence. Collaborate with the Flight Path vendor to ensure they have accurate data to optimize forecasting models for individual podcasts.
- Inventory Management: Maintain thorough and accurate documentation on podcaster fill rates, campaign availability, and other relevant information. Forecasting informs us about available impressions; inventory management ensures we have accurate information about unique ad placements.
- Catalog Maintenance: Update our network catalogs on a monthly basis to provide up-to-date information about our podcasts and their impression counts, ensuring all stakeholders have access to the latest data.
- Team Management: Supervise two direct reports responsible for the day-to-day execution of our campaigns, including setting up new campaigns, providing necessary information to podcasters, uploading creatives, and overseeing the entire process under your supervision.
- Campaign Optimization: Proactively review upcoming and active campaigns to identify potential issues and make adjustments to maximize impression delivery and avoid under-delivery. Maximize revenue by suggesting run-of-network campaigns and offering fire sales when available.
- Reporting: Send reports to advertisers as campaigns are completed, with your direct reports preparing the reports, but you ensuring their accuracy and timeliness.
- Client Communications: After sales have booked a campaign, you will become the primary point of contact for advertisers for all Megaphone-related campaigns until completion, providing updates, making recommendations, delivering final reporting, and answering questions about campaign status and delivery.
- Podcaster Evaluation & Onboarding: When evaluating new podcasters, you will audit their podcast and provide initial impression estimates to gauge their sales potential. Once a podcaster is on board, you will be responsible for setting them up on Megaphone, preparing their account for campaigns, and providing recommendations to sales on how to sell their first campaigns.
- Vendor Relationship Management: Be the primary point of contact for all AdOps-related activities for vendors like Megaphone and Flight Path.
- Process Development: Collaborate with the COO to standardize processes and develop SOPs for new team members on using Megaphone, Flight Path, and other relevant tools.
Results:
- Campaign Delivery: 90% of campaigns deliver 100% of scheduled impressions at the start of the campaign.
- Inventory Accuracy: Inventory documentation and catalog information are accurate at all times.
- Reporting: Reports are sent within 5 days of campaign completion for all campaigns.
- New Podcaster Campaigns: 100% of a new podcaster's first 5 campaigns deliver 100% of booked impressions.
- Client Communications: All advertiser/publisher inquiries are answered within 1 business day, and you take over as the point of contact for all Megaphone-related campaigns within 60 days.
- Process Development: Develop a standard process for evaluating run-of-network and fire sale opportunities on a monthly basis.
- Revenue Maximization: Make recommendations for at least 3 campaigns where impressions can be increased, with at least 1 resulting in a budget increase from the advertiser.
Requirements:
- 3 to 5+ years of experience in an AdOps role.
- 1 to 2+ years of experience in the podcast industry.
- Available to work Monday through Friday until at least 3:00 PM ET.
- Experience with Megaphone is highly preferred, but we will consider candidates with experience using similar platforms.
- Good mathematical skills, with the ability to thrive working with numbers, data, spreadsheets, charts, and numbers-driven operations.
- Able to produce significant output with minimal wasted effort, developing clear and actionable processes and SOPs.
- Analytical skills, with the ability to structure and analyze both qualitative and quantitative data, drawing insightful conclusions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and articulately, maintaining high standards for clarity and syntax in all communications.
- Organized, with the ability to plan, organize, and schedule tasks efficiently, focusing on key priorities and managing multiple deliverables simultaneously.
