Our team is looking for a Senior Industrial Engineer with expertise in manufacturing process optimization to join our Solar and Storage team in Bangalore, India.

About the Role

This position involves leading complex engineering projects aimed at optimizing production processes and reducing costs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing complex engineering projects focused on optimizing production processes and reducing costs.
  • Responsible for product simplification and optimization from the assembly perspective, managing DFA and DFAA studies.
  • To justify the best choice of product architecture by assessing each studied operation's feasibility and simplicity of the associated manufacturing process in 'Product/Process Architecture Options.'
  • Proposing and justifying (investment vs. assembly cost) the most economical manufacturing process architecture according to the rules of SPS (Schneider Production System) & LADM (Line Architecture Design Methodology) in 'DO' stage gate.
  • Responsible for traceability and digitalization approach definition.
  • As the window between R&D and equipment suppliers, working out the best solution for assembly.
  • Communicating with plant/GSC to convince equipment solutions and investments.
  • To design manufacturing line architecture, complete technical specifications of assembly means / automatic lines.
  • Implementing lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements.
  • To launch and qualify the assembly means / automatic lines according to industrialization budgets and schedules.
  • To train plant staffs and transfer Industrial files to plants.
  • Creating and maintaining technical-related documents and standards.
  • Conducting time studies and work sampling to establish standard work practices.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Mentoring and guiding junior engineers and support staff in best practices and methodologies.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.

Requirements

We're looking for positive, self-motivated, passionate individuals who collaborate well in an exciting, energetic team-based design environment. Candidates should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial engineering within a manufacturing environment (mechanical designer background is a plus).
  • Certification in Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred) or equivalent process improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in industrial engineering software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Creo, or similar.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis and statistical tools.
  • Excellent project management skills with a proven track record of leading successful projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with MES systems and production planning software is a plus.

Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 per annum.
