Job Title: Design Engineer III

Regal Rexnord is seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer III to join our team. As a key member of our Industrial Components team, you will be responsible for driving multiple New Product Development (NPD) projects through the Customer Focused Innovation (CFI) stage gate process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead engineering teams to complete NPD projects through the CFI stage gate process.
  • Develop and review detailed concepts, designs, and specifications of new products.
  • Conduct concept design and detail design reviews.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to execute project deliverables, including NPD technical deliverables, PPAP approvals, design verification testing plans, and drawings releases.
  • Work on Value Added Engineering (VAVE) projects involving design changes, cost savings, and product enhancements.
  • Understand manufacturing processes, process capabilities, and establish tolerances using knowledge of components and assemblies used and intended function.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, advancements in bearings and chain technology, and competitor analysis.
  • Work with CAD designers to prepare part, drawings, and assembly 3D models in Solid Edge/Solid Works. Perform quality checks on generated designs.
  • Create design documents, such as installation instructions and customer data sheets.
  • Develop test plans for lab testing and simulation plans using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools to validate concepts and final designs.
  • Provide inputs to FEA teams and offer solutions based on FEA results data.
  • Coordinate with in-house teams for CAD, testing, FEA, and project management activities.
  • Work with vendors to build prototypes, test fixtures, and production tooling.
  • Generate intellectual property for bearing and chain product lines.
  • Assist in developing new or modified technologies for bearings and chain products.
  • Provide project updates to business units on a weekly basis and in biweekly pulse meetings.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the mechanical industry.
  • Exposure to power transmission products is an added advantage.
  • Candidates with good academics and learning ability will be preferred. Minimum 70% marks in 10th and 12th or equivalent examination.
  • Proficiency with drawings and models using CAD software (SolidWorks/Solid Edge/AutoCAD).
  • Green Belt or DFLSS certification is an added advantage.
  • Prior FEA knowledge is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Above-average verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior project management and PDCA methodology experience is a plus.
  • Experience in cost reduction-VAVE projects or industrial product design in a reputable company. Experience in a global/multinational company is an added advantage.
  • Ability to interact and work closely with global teams to complete project deliverables.
  • Can effectively function in a team environment.
