Interior Engineering Leader

This role is within the team responsible for leading the engineering design, technical development, and delivery of Interior components for new or ongoing programs through to launch at the manufacturing plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Door Trim: Soft & Hard trims: Door Trims, Tailgate Trims, Door Claddings, Pillar Capping, Finishers etc
  • Ownership of commodities and components of various projects including delivering commodity plans to quality, cost, and time.
  • Manage Change Requests, expenditure forecasting, and relevant supplier teams in support of delivery of program milestones.
  • Design verification test plans, including detailed planning of test and development stages.
  • Resolve compatibility with A-surfaces for technical feasibility, surrounding component packaging, and vehicle attribute teams to develop designs that meet vehicle targets.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience of leading the resolution of business, technical, and process issues within a project team environment.
  • A good working knowledge of product creation & delivery, change control, product definition, and change management processes.
  • Knowledge of automotive body cabin systems, plastic & Sheet metal materials, Design rules, Bill of design, Bill of Process, DFMEA, DVP, DFM, Part & assembly level tests etc.
  • Ability to create 2D sections and 3D geometry using Catia V5/V6/TCE/Digibuck.
  • Experience in using CATIA V5 & V6
  • Good knowledge of Domain Knowledge, Parametric Modelling, BOM creation and update
  • Good GD& T knowledge
  • Successful history of delivery within the automotive sector.
  • Good knowledge of Enovia, Teamcenter Engineering (TCE), Part release process and system
  • Engineering knowledge of defined component(s) / system(s) design, function, performance, production & manufacturing requirements.
  • Excellent communications skills, demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels,
  • PC Literacy: Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word etc

  • BE/B. Tech, ME in Mechanical/Production/Automotive Engineering
