International Sales Team Lead

Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Global Infrastructure Business Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing international business development and sales strategies to drive revenue growth and achieve set sales targets.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Middle East and Africa market, with 15-20 years of experience in sales/business development, preferably in a technical sales role. A bachelor's degree in engineering, business, sales, or marketing, with an MBA preferred.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute international business development and sales strategies to drive revenue growth and achieve set sales targets.
- Lead and manage a team of professionals, providing guidance and strategic direction.
- Create new leads and opportunities at prospects and existing customers.
- Front-end assessment of business opportunities focused on selling infrastructure solutions for lighting, transportation, and utility sectors.
- Develop the sales pipeline and turn pipeline into business for Valmont.
- RFP analysis, strategy for proposal development, and negotiations.
- Develop account strategy to achieve sales goals within the overall Sales/BDM team.
- Takes a collaborative sales approach with customers to determine best solutions for the customer.
- Owns the overall customer relationship between Valmont and assigned customers, including business reviews at all levels both within Valmont and with the customer to achieve long-term partnerships.
- Accountable for deal leadership and collaborates cross-functionally with colleagues to drive the contract negotiation process and successfully close sales transactions.
- Maximizes customer relationships to ensure future sales and optimize new business opportunities. Actively pursues recapture opportunities for lost accounts.
- Maintains regular, proactive communications with customers and Valmont management via face-to-face meetings, telephone, and email.
- Reviews and tracks issues from customers that are complex in nature.
- Provides contract expertise and assists with answering contractual questions from customers on sales, warranty, and service agreements.
- Understands broader market trends and proactively drives solutions to ensure risks of meeting plans are mitigated and customer needs are supported.
- Strong participation in marketing activities and product marketing development.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Sales, or Marketing. MBA preferred.
- 15-20 years of experience in Sales/Business Development.
- Middle East and Africa Market knowledge.
- Technical sales experience.
