Factory Medical Officer Job Description

The Factory Medical Officer is responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of factory workers. This includes conducting regular medical check-ups, providing first aid, and maintaining accurate medical records.

The role also involves collaborating with management to develop and implement occupational health procedures, as well as providing guidance on addressing and correcting occupational health issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Regular Medical Check-Ups: Perform pre- and periodic medical examinations of workers and employees to ensure fitness for duty.
  • Provide First Aid and Emergency Care: Offer first-aid care, including emergency medical treatment, and provide referral services with local hospitals and specialists.
  • Maintain Medical Records: Keep accurate and up-to-date medical records according to Factories Act, Rules, and ISO requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • MBBS degree.
  • Diploma in Industrial Health (DIH) or Certificate of Training in Industrial Health recognized by the state government.
  • Minimum 1-8 years of experience in managing OHC in an industrial setup.
