Job Title: Corporate Legal Specialist

This role provides critical support to attorneys in managing and overseeing transactional and regulatory legal matters, including sourcing, and offers advice and counsel to internal clients. The ideal candidate will research information, prepare and review contracts and other legal documents, maintain contract template databases and weblinks, and direct incoming issues. This position works closely with outside counsel to ensure matters are handled effectively, collaborates with internal UPS functions to gather and provide information, and communicates with outside agencies. The successful candidate may supervise Administrative Assistants where appropriate. Additional responsibilities will be given based on individual capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing contractual arrangements with suppliers/customers, NDA, RFQ, and other agreements.
  • Drafting various notices and responding to notices from Customs and employment law perspectives.
  • Assisting in litigation management, negotiating fees with external counsels, and strategizing debt recoveries.
  • Working closely with all functions to support risk and compliance evaluation.
  • Advising on good governance practices and compliance with Corporate Governance norms.
  • Assisting in developing a corporate and social sustainability framework.
  • Handling the promotion, formation, winding up of companies, and related matters.
  • Responsible for filing, registering documents, and acting as an authorized representative.
  • Managing Compliance Audit and representing UPS before various boards and forums.
  • Implementing procedural/administrative systems and ensuring policies are current and approved.
  • Writing reports and maintaining current awareness about company law.
  • Administrative Activities - MIS Logs, Litigation Management, Filing of documents, Debt Recovery.

Requirements:

  • Qualification - LLB & CS mandatory.
  • Experience - min. 7 years.

Key Skills:

Meticulous attention to detail, good numerical, organizational, and time management skills, and a genuine interest in business. Excellent computing, secretarial, interpersonal, team working, and written/verbal communication skills are also important.
