Technical Leader for Advanced Automotive Systems

Job SummaryWe are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to lead our application engineering team in developing cutting-edge solutions for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Autonomous Driving (AD), and Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV). The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing system performance, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving innovation in embedded system solutions.
Key Responsibilities- System Performance Optimization: Lead the optimization of complex automotive embedded systems architecture, including multiple OSs, real-time OS, functional safety standards, and system-on-chip (SoC) with heterogeneous compute architecture.
- Collaboration and Innovation: Work closely with Field Application Engineers (FAEs) and key customers (Tier 1 and OEMs) to analyze technical issues and requirements, ensuring our system solutions meet key performance needs.
- Team Leadership: Lead the application engineering team to profile, analyze, and optimize system performance for automotive ADAS/AD systems on R-Car platforms.
- Use-Case Development: Develop and benchmark new system use-cases on R-Car platforms, working with multiple hardware and software teams.
- Performance Analysis: Focus on ADAS/AD system use-cases such as Front Camera, Surround View, Parking, and Driver Monitoring Systems.
- Troubleshooting and Resolution: Collaborate with marketing, system architecture, field sales/FAE, and SW & HW design teams to identify and resolve performance issues, leading deep-dive debugging sessions.
- Proof of Concept Development: Work with partners, global teams, and customers to develop state-of-the-art proof of concept projects.
- Field Team Support: Provide support to field teams to generate opportunities and facilitate design-ins.
- Strategic Support: Assist senior leadership in driving improvements for automotive customers.
- Experience: 10+ years in automotive embedded ADAS/AD systems application engineering.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, and Python, with extensive experience in debugging techniques.
- Leadership: Strong ownership and leadership skills, capable of managing diverse global teams.
- Embedded Systems: Experience with embedded platforms, including low-level firmware, kernel, and user-space components, as well as ARMs, GPUs, ISPs, CNNs, and specialized hardware accelerators in embedded SoC systems.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to meet customer expectations.

Renesas offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, plus additional benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
