About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Business Operations Specialist in the Deposit Payments Group within Consumer, Small & Business Banking (CSBB). This role is responsible for leading support functions or operations for multiple business groups and contributing to large-scale strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness of solutions and pipeline management relating to assigned operations.
  • Research moderately complex business, operational, and strategic initiatives that require analytical skills, basic knowledge of organizational strategy, and Business Execution.
  • Work independently to make recommendations for support functions by providing support and leadership.
  • Partner with senior management and business partners on matters of significance regarding strategic approaches, effectiveness of support functions, and business performance improvement opportunities.
  • Support the Line of Business in partnering with front-line teams, including Control and second-line teams, in preparation and facilitation of internal reviews and audits.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement by conducting root cause testing of all compliance and business metrics.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor risk-based programs to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risk.
  • Design and develop testing strategies, methodologies, and analyses for risks and controls.
  • Perform assessments through fact-finding and data analysis, requiring creative approaches to solving complex issues and developing appropriate solutions or recommendations.
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of policies and internal controls.
  • Consult with businesses to develop corrective action plans and effectively manage change.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years in Financial Services or Banking industry experience.
  • Experience supporting or partnering with CSBB Payments Group line of business.
  • Knowledge and understanding of banking regulations, compliance, policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Experience working with Veritas, JIRA Service Desk, Confluence.
  • Experience with compliance of corporate policies, including Self-Assurance Activities and Customer Remediation.
  • Experience partnering with Independent Risk Management and Internal Audit teams.
  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships.
  • Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business leaders to gain commitment to accomplish business goals.
  • Ability to facilitate and lead meetings to reach conclusions, identify tasks, record actions, and achieve results.
  • Ability to articulate issues, risks, and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and management.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn findings into executable plans to meet business objectives.
  • Advanced knowledge of internal control policy and issue management policy.
