Job Title: Process Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced engineer to support our globally distributed pharma project team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in flow chemistry and batch process design, with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize flow chemistry and batch processes for scale-up and commercial manufacturing.
  • Perform process design calculations, including heat and mass balance, reaction kinetics, equipment sizing, pressure drop, mixing, and scale-up parameters.
  • Prepare and review engineering deliverables, such as Block Flow Diagrams (BFDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Support process safety assessments, including HAZOP, risk analysis, and safety studies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust process design.
  • Evaluate new technologies and propose innovative solutions for continuous manufacturing and flow chemistry applications.
  • Provide process engineering support during pilot plant and commercial scale-up.
  • Work with procurement and vendors for equipment selection and specification preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, regulatory guidelines, and EHS standards in process design.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years of experience in process design engineering within the pharmaceutical/chemical industry.
  • Hands-on expertise in flow chemistry and batch process design.
  • Strong knowledge of process design tools and calculations.
  • Experience in preparing and interpreting BFDs, PFDs, and P&IDs.
  • Proficiency in simulation software preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of process safety desirable.
