Piping Design Specialist with SmartPlant 3D Expertise

We are seeking a skilled Piping Design Specialist to join our team at Padink Engineering. As a key member of our design group, you will play a critical role in the development of piping systems for industrial projects.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Piping Designer to leverage their expertise in SmartPlant 3D (SP3D) and apply it to complex projects across various industries, including Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power, and Chemical Plants.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in piping design, excellent working knowledge of SP3D, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. They will be responsible for creating accurate piping models, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed 3D models of piping systems using SP3D based on engineering requirements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
  • Generate piping isometric drawings, layout plans, and support designs as required for the project.
  • Collaborate with project engineers, civil, structural, and mechanical teams to resolve design clashes and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and specify materials for piping components, adhering to project standards and specifications.
  • Review and check design deliverables to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with industry standards such as ASME, API, and project-specific requirements.
  • Conduct clash detection and resolve design conflicts within SP3D, coordinating with other departments as necessary.
  • Maintain project documentation, including progress reports, design changes, and revisions, as well as adhering to document control procedures.
Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 8-10 years of experience as a Piping Designer, with proven proficiency in SmartPlant 3D (SP3D)
  • Knowledge of piping standards and codes (e.g., ASME, ANSI)
  • Experience in piping design for industries such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power, or Chemical Plants
  • Familiarity with other design software like AutoCAD, MicroStation, and PDMS is a plus
  • Strong understanding of piping layouts, isometrics, equipment layout, and support design
