About the Role

Circana, the leading advisor on consumer behavior, seeks a Data Scientist to join our team.

  • As a Data Scientist, you will work closely with internal and external clients to implement data-driven solutions and deliver high-quality data.
  • You will be responsible for extracting actionable insights from data to inform leadership and drive improvements in data quality.
  • You will build and maintain dashboards and metrics to expose issues and validate results.
  • Heavy interaction with development teams and clients is required.
  • Your expertise in analytics/BI tools will make you a valuable resource with clients and in the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be an SME for our vast data assets/sources.
  • Design data profiling/trending and similar checks for data quality and consistency.
  • Document and design automated checks to ensure data quality.
  • Work with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and other groups to institute processes for data validation and quality.
  • Identify trend breaks and other data quality issues.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and external clients to identify issues and opportunities to improve our data.
  • Design and develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations to facilitate data reviews.
  • Provide ad-hoc data, analytics, and insights to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Analytics, Data Science, or other quantitative disciplines.
  • 4+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, and reporting.
  • Data visualization experience with BI tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Domo is a plus.
  • Expert in SQL querying, relational databases, data warehouses, OLAP, and OLTP databases.
  • Ability to use big data systems such as Hadoop.
  • Ability to communicate insights from complex data sets.
  • Experience with the Retail Industry is a plus.
  • Strong analytic and quantitative abilities, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills and written/verbal communication skills.
