Research & Development Leadership Role:

The Head of Research & Development will spearhead the R&D team, driving innovation and guiding the development of new engineering plastics products. A deep understanding of polymer science and industry trends is essential to ensure the company remains at the forefront of technological advancements. The R&D Head will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align research objectives with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and implement the R&D strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
    • Identify and prioritize research projects that drive innovation and competitive advantage.
    • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the R&D team.
  • Research and Development:
    • Lead the development of new engineering plastics products from concept to commercialization.
    • Oversee experimental design, material selection, and process optimization for product quality and performance.
    • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements to guide research initiatives.
  • Team Management:
    • Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing R&D team.
    • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members.
    • Evaluate team performance and implement strategies to maximize productivity and innovation.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality control, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of new products into production.
    • Work with marketing and sales teams to understand market needs and customer feedback.
    • Present research findings and project updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Project Management:
    • Oversee the planning, execution, and management of R&D projects.
    • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
    • Implement project management best practices and tools to enhance efficiency and accountability.
  • Innovation and Problem Solving:
    • Drive the development of innovative solutions to complex material and engineering challenges.
    • Utilize advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
    • Promote the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance R&D capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Polymer Science, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 18 years of experience in R&D within the engineering plastics or polymer industry.
  • Proven track record of successful product development and commercialization.
  • Experience in managing and leading R&D teams.

Technical Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of polymer science, material properties, and engineering plastics.
  • Proficiency in experimental design, material characterization, and analytical techniques.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and quality control processes.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
