Lead Database Strategist

This is a senior leadership role that oversees the strategic management of large-scale enterprise databases. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in database administration, team leadership, and vendor coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning
    • Develop and implement comprehensive database strategies to support high-availability healthcare operations.
    • Define and implement disaster recovery strategies (Active/Passive Dataguard) and capacity planning.
  • & Collaboration
    • Lead a team of DBAs, providing mentoring, guidance, and technical training.
    • Coordinate with vendors on patches, upgrades, and bug resolutions within defined SLAs.
  • & Optimization
    • Drive proactive database performance optimization and query tuning at scale.
    • Lead deployment of enterprise-wide replication (Golden Gate) and upgrade initiatives.
  • & Processes
    • Establish best practices for database documentation, change management, and issue tracking.
    • Manage release deployment strategies and post-deployment go-live support.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Oracle Database Administration, with at least 3+ years in a leadership capacity.
  • Expertise in Golden Gate replication, Oracle Application Server, and WebLogic administration.
  • Strong knowledge of disaster recovery strategies, capacity planning, and performance management.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage vendors, and handle enterprise-level database initiatives.
  • Proficiency in PL/SQL, RMAN, OEM, and Unix/Linux shell scripting.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
