Executive Financial Director

The Executive Financial Director role at 2coms is a high-level position that oversees all aspects of financial management. This includes financial planning, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. The Executive Financial Director works closely with executive management to develop financial strategies that drive the company's growth and profitability.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes, including directing staff related to activities such as billing, payroll, accounts payable, and financial reporting for all month-end close processes. A thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and other relevant accounting standards is required.
  • Understand all aspects of revenue recognition, including ASC 606.
  • Lead and direct the work of other employees, with responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination.
  • Influence the accuracy and effectiveness of the corporate accounting consolidation and closing process and treasury operations through analytical review and trend analysis.
  • Develop and execute processes to allow for routine analytical reviews of company financial and operational performance, leveraging business unit analytical resources and tools.
  • Partner with auditor activities related to accounting, treasury, tax as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with management in building budgets and forecasts as needed until capable of taking ownership over these procedures, including the close process.
  • Analyze and review accounts and accounting cycles, prepare and review balance sheet recons, and handle documentation of accounting workflows.
  • Gather and analyze data reflected in the company's financial statements, ensuring it is properly stated and accurately reflected.
  • Communicate issues, project status, and other applicable information to management.
  • Complete special projects as assigned by management.
  • Generate any ad-hoc reporting and/or analysis requested by management.
  • Maintain an understanding of new accounting programs/initiatives, making recommendations for improvements as needed.
  • Rely on experience and judgment to creatively think through any curiosities that may arise on a day-to-day basis.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Human Resources and Legal, on financial and regulatory matters, including compensation planning and contract negotiations.
