Job Profile Overview

The role of a production merchandiser involves overseeing the entire product development process, from material sourcing to supplier negotiations and timely production according to design.

  • Manage the product lifecycle, including material procurement, supplier relations, and production coordination for timely delivery.
  • Align all stakeholders, including raw material suppliers, job workers, and internal and external production teams, to meet production timelines.
  • Foster strong relationships with vendors, mills, traders, labels and tags suppliers, job workers, fabricators, and garment manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and present pre-production samples, evaluate product performance, and negotiate costs with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing.

  • Evaluate product specifications, materials, and production requirements in collaboration with design and development teams.
  • Coordinate production schedules to ensure timely retail product delivery and manage production timelines effectively.
  • Sources, develops, and manages raw materials, trims, accessories, job workers, and dispatches to support production needs.
  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure products meet company standards and specifications.
  • Conduct inspections and oversee testing to identify and resolve quality issues.
Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 4-5 years of experience in product development, buying, merchandising, and production in buying houses, retail brands, export houses, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrics, trims, and accessories, as well as the factory supplier base.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
