Job Title: Database Administrator for Palnar

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team at Palnar. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the support, implementation, maintenance, and security of our SQL server landscape.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor database performance and administer SQL security
  • Create, modify, and manage database tables and fields
  • Investigate data questions from the business and IT teams
  • Oversee backup and restore of databases
  • Size and monitor database server performance and space capacity
  • Participate in creation and configuration of databases to support new applications
  • Apply Microsoft patches to SQL servers on a monthly basis
  • Database tuning and remediation of issues found in SQL health checks and vulnerability assessments
  • Assist in setup and deployment of new SQL servers and clusters
  • Assist in database migrations
  • Assist in removal of decommissioned SQL servers and instances
  • Monitor and investigate DB best practice reports and DB alert notifications
  • Support and configure SQL high availability utilizing availability groups and clustering

SharePoint Site Development and Support:

  • Support modification of various internal SharePoint sites
  • Create, modify, and support custom coded sites
  • Develop workflows
  • Utilize ShareGate utility to migrate/import data to/from SharePoint sites/libraries, generate permission, storage, and usage reports, and adjust site and library permissions

Other Responsibilities:

  • This position will also be responsible for various duties as assigned by the Director of GIT Server and Client Solutions, including but not limited to:
  • Documentation: Develop installation, configuration, and recovery procedures for both standard and non-standard software packages and server systems
  • Projects: Assist projects with SQL, SharePoint, and Data Services related requirements
  • Inventory: Maintain accurate SQL Server and DB inventory

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years' DBA experience
  • Minimum 4-year College degree or equivalent business experience, Preferred Certifications: Microsoft SQL/Database Administrator

  • Complex Thinking: Sees the interrelationships between the parts of the technical situation determines how to use technology to address business requirements
  • Continuous Learning and Self-Development: Understands the ever-changing nature of Information Technology and the need to stay abreast of new technologies and to refresh skills on a continual basis, both through self-directed learning and via corporate-sponsored educational opportunities
