Job Title: Construction Contracts Manager
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Contract Manager with expertise in Civil Law to oversee the entire contract management process, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating construction contracts, subcontracts, and other legal agreements.
Responsibilities:
- Contract Management: Manage contracts to ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and contractual obligations throughout the construction project's lifecycle.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and issues in contracts, analyze their potential impact, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize legal and financial exposure.
- Contract Administration: Monitor and administer contracts to ensure adherence to terms and conditions, timely performance, and resolution of any contractual disputes or claims.
- Negotiations: Collaborate with project teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors to negotiate contract terms, variations, and change orders to ensure the best outcomes for the company.
- Document Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract documentation, records, and correspondence to ensure a comprehensive and organized contract management system.
- Dispute Resolution: Facilitate the resolution of any contractual disputes or claims, utilizing legal expertise and negotiation skills to achieve favorable outcomes for the company.
- Legal Support: Provide legal guidance and support to project teams and stakeholders on contract-related matters, including interpretation of contract terms, legal rights, and obligations.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, legal developments, and best practices in construction contract management, and actively contribute to enhancing the company's contract management processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Law or a related field. A postgraduate degree or certification in Construction Law would be an advantage.
- Minimum of [X] years of experience working as a Construction Contract Manager, with a strong focus on Civil Law, within the construction industry.
- Legal Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Indian civil law, construction contracts, and relevant regulations, including FIDIC contracts and other standard forms of construction contracts.
- Construction Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with construction project management processes, terminology, and industry-specific legal requirements.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate and resolve complex contractual issues with multiple stakeholders, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to assess and mitigate risks and resolve legal disputes effectively.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate legal concepts and complex contractual matters to various audiences.
- Organization and Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to contract administration, document management, and record-keeping, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Team Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
