Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver profitable SALT services to clients, utilizing firm and client resources effectively.
  • Provide timely, high-quality client service, meeting or exceeding client expectations with tax advice and consultation.
  • Focus on state income and franchise taxes, with regular exposure to sales and use taxes, gross receipts taxes, employment taxes, credits, and incentives.
  • Research and resolve technical state and local tax issues.
  • Prepare technical memoranda, matrices, and other client deliverables.
  • Manage tax assignments and related projects.
  • Plan and coordinate the flow of information with clients.
  • Review work papers and state tax returns.
  • Participate in the billing and collection process.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of state and local tax experience in a public accounting firm, corporate tax department, or law firm.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related business degree from an accredited college/university.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA, Master's in Accounting, MBA, or LLM in Taxation.
  • Broad knowledge of state and local tax matters in various industries.
  • Able to manage multiple engagements.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
