The role will be responsible for ensuring high network uptime, maintaining service level agreements, and executing service improvement plans for the entire Mumbai IP network.
Key Result Areas/Accountabilities
Key accountabilities include:
- Developing a thorough understanding of IP packet flow and OSI layers.
- Utilizing out-of-the-box thinking and excellent problem-solving skills during troubleshooting.
- Handling tremendous work pressure while maintaining a proactive approach.
- Overseeing knowledge of service layers on CEN, IPRAN, and FLDS.
- Command-level hands-on experience with Cisco, Nokia, ECI, and Juniper routers.
- Deep knowledge of IP protocols, including ISIS, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, L2/L3 VPN.
- Understanding of access, pre-agg, agg, and core networks in terms of services and connectivity.
- Understanding of 2G, 3G, and 4G technologies.
- Knowledge of MSC, MGW, RNC, MME, SGW, OSS, STP, PACO, MPBN connectivity with IP networks at core and pre-agg.
- MPLS traffic engineering, LDP, RSVP, and segment routing.
- Layer 2 technologies, including Ethernet, 802.1q/p VLAN, STP, RSTP, ARP, PPP, MLPPP, and LACP.
- Layer 3 - IP and related technologies, including ICMP, TCP, IPSec, GRE, QoS, and VRRP.
- Wireshark analysis and packet capture.
- Assigning quality tasks to vendors, engineers, and managed partners for meeting best results.
- Evolution of SLA and KPI-driven operations across circles to provide best-in-class customer experience for the business team on service ops domain.
Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience
Core competencies include:
- 4 to 10 years of experience in the field of IP networking.
- Demonstrated experience of working in telecom service delivery functions.
- Experience with data networking platforms and enterprise products and services.
- Vendor governance and resource utilization.
- CCNA is a must in R&S, CCNP preferred.
- B.E.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive approach with a positive attitude.
- Able to handle pressure.
- Balance in handling emergencies.
- Experience in virtual team management.
- Good stakeholder management skills to interface with vendors and partners.
