Job Title: R&D Engineer

We are seeking a talented and innovative R&D engineer to join our team. As an R&D engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing and testing optical fibre, data and communication cables for aerospace and defence applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Design and develop high-performance optical fibre, data and communication cables that meet the stringent requirements of the aerospace and defence industries.
  • Research and Innovation: Conduct research to identify and implement advanced materials and technologies in cable design, ensuring that our products remain at the forefront of innovation.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that data cable designs meet project specifications and industry standards, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
  • Simulation and Analysis: Perform simulations and analyses to predict performance, reliability and durability of data cables, enabling us to make informed decisions and drive business growth.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Develop and document technical specifications, test plans and reports, ensuring that all relevant information is accurately recorded and communicated to stakeholders.
  • Compliance and Quality: Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory and quality standards, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies and best practices, remaining vigilant and proactive in the pursuit of excellence.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to manufacturing and quality assurance teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and expertise-sharing.
  • Project Management: Participate in project planning, milestone tracking and risk management activities, driving projects forward and ensuring successful outcomes.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from a reputable institution.
  • Experience: Proven experience in R&D within the aerospace, defence or related high-tech industries, demonstrating a strong track record of innovation and achievement.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Strong knowledge of data cable design, materials and manufacturing processes, as well as proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, combined with strong analytical and technical writing skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Passion for Learning: Passion for continuous learning and professional development, staying curious and motivated in the pursuit of excellence.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Education: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, enhancing your credentials and expertise.
  • Industry Experience: Experience with aerospace and defence industry standards and regulations, providing valuable insights and context.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Knowledge of advanced materials and their applications in data cables, expanding your skillset and capabilities.
