Seeking a highly skilled Customs and Regulatory Product Developer to join ELT Corporate Private Limited. This role will be instrumental in supporting the development of new products, regulatory licenses, registrations, approvals, and legal research.

We empower clients to achieve seamless regulatory compliance, guiding them through complex procedures and documentation requirements.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Management/Founders, as well as marketing, sales, and regulatory teams, to provide insights and information that shape our product strategies and support market growth. Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Support New Product Development:
  • Assist the founder and management in researching and analyzing regulatory requirements and market trends for new regulatory licenses, registrations, approvals, and other legal research.
  • Compile comprehensive reports detailing market share, compliance challenges, and competitor analysis.
  1. Market and Competition Research:
  • Conduct thorough research to understand industry trends, market size, growth potential, and emerging competitors.
  • Analyze global vs. local market demands and how regulatory needs differ across regions in India.
  1. Compliance and Regulatory Monitoring:
  • Stay updated on international and Indian trade regulations, especially around import/export laws, ensuring compliance with regional requirements.
  • Identify relevant regulatory bodies, permissions, and the processes for obtaining licenses.
  1. RTI for Data Gathering:
  • File RTI applications to gather official data on licenses granted, active businesses, and non-compliance penalties.
  1. Sales Support:
  • Respond to client queries, ensuring accurate and relevant information.
  • Document all Frequently Asked Queries (FAQs) asked during Sales Discovery and Operational activities.
  • Assist the sales team by providing and updating marketing materials for Customer Satisfaction.
  1. Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Comfortably engage with stakeholders across various government departments and customs house agents (CHAs) involved in customs and regulatory processes to seek information on real-time basis.
  1. Networking & Expert Consultations:
  • Conduct interviews or consultations with legal experts and regulatory officers.
  • Participate in industry forums or webinars to stay updated on compliance developments.
  1. Challenges in the Sector:
  • Analyze operational barriers and legal challenges companies face when entering the market.
  • Assess potential delays in obtaining approvals and fines for late submissions of regulatory and compliance filings.
  1. Key Legal Documentation:
  • Compile relevant laws, guidelines, and policies related to each existing or newly introduced services/offering and track recent amendments that could impact compliance.

Requirements:

We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor's degree in any field, preferably in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Law, or Business Administration. A short-term certification course or Diploma in customs regulations, logistics, and market analysis from Export-Import Institutes is beneficial. Knowledge of import-export customs regulations, particularly for regions such as India, the EU, Middle East, and Asia-Pacific, is advantageous.

Desired Skills & Competencies:

  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and comfortable using technology for research and data analysis.
  • Analytical and Research Skills: Ability to perform secondary and primary market research, with skills in data interpretation and generating actionable insights to build new product/service.
  • Presentation Skills: Competent in creating and delivering presentations that convey complex information clearly.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, able to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Proactive and Independent: Self-driven, adaptable, and willing to learn continuously to keep up with evolving industry trends.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with customs regulations and the ability to apply this knowledge in a product development context is beneficial.
