Job Title: VDI Expert Architect

At Stefanini, we are seeking an experienced VDI Expert Architect to join our team. As a key member of our End-User Computing (EUC) team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

Responsibilities:
  1. VDI Platform Management: Oversee the build and maintenance of application and desktop virtualization platforms, including Citrix, VMware, and Microsoft AVD.
  2. Documentation and Framework Development: Create and maintain knowledge base articles, architecture frameworks, and detailed diagrams for various end-user and desktop virtualization products.
  3. Documentation Management: Develop, audit, and update all VDI-related documentation, including architecture, configuration, processes, service records, asset inventories, topologies, and support manuals.
  4. Knowledge Transfer and Training: Provide detailed design and operational documentation to team members and develop training resources for support personnel to offer Tier I support to end users.
  5. Project Coordination: Collaborate with the project delivery team to ensure the successful completion of medium to large enterprise projects.
  6. Vendor and Management Collaboration: Work with vendors and management on VDI-related hardware, software, licensing, and service engagements.
  7. Customer Demonstrations: Facilitate in-depth demonstrations of VDI functions and features to customers.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on new features and product releases to become an acknowledged expert in the field.
Requirements:
  1. Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, with 8+ years of experience in one or more EUC technologies, including Horizon & Horizon Cloud, Citrix CVAD & Intelligent Workspaces, and Microsoft (M365, AVD & AAD).
  2. VDI Technologies: Proficiency in DEM, App Volumes, VMware Workstation, Citrix XenDesktop, Citrix XenApp, Citrix PVS, Citrix Director, Citrix StoreFront, Citrix MCS, HDX 3DX Pro, NVIDIA vGPU, and Citrix Receiver.
  3. Solution Design: Experience in designing and building VDI solutions, including Azure Windows Virtual Desktop, Horizon Cloud, and Citrix Cloud on Azure/AWS.
  4. Application Delivery: Knowledge of end-user application delivery and app modernization technologies (e.g., App Layering, MSIX AppAttach).
  5. Lifecycle Management: Experience with OS and software lifecycle management, including upgrades and major changes for Windows 10 / O365 / macOS.
  6. Security and Compliance: Understanding of virtual desktop security and compliance measures, including antivirus, firewalls, disk encryption, and data protection.
  7. Monitoring and Diagnostics: Skills in virtual desktop monitoring and diagnostics using relevant tools.
  8. Security Concepts: Hands-on experience with security concepts such as SSL, Kerberos, certificates, MFA, and identity management (SSO).
  9. Active Directory: Sound knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory (AD) infrastructure, including users, permissions, OUs, Group Policies, and Domain Controllers.
  10. Networking: Understanding of network components such as DHCP, load balancers, and firewalls.
