About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Operations Engineer to join our team, who will be responsible for participating in project teams, troubleshooting operational issues, providing technical solutions to operational problems, new product implementation, implementing existing products and services, and the overall upkeep and maintenance of designated areas of engineering.

The successful candidate will have strong collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team, and possess strong skills with AWS Services. Additionally, they should have experience with agile development and a strong understanding of DevOps principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Asset and Configuration Management: Conduct life cycle management for assets including hardware, software, intellectual property, licenses, and warranties.
  • Availability and Capacity Management: Define, analyze, plan, forecast, measure, maintain, and improve all aspects of the availability of services, including power.
  • Change Management: Manage service changes, configuration items, organizational change, supplier change, and associated documentation.
  • Ensure Systems Meet Business Needs: Ensure that systems meet business and customer needs for reliability and availability.
  • Monitor and Manage Application Performance: Monitor and manage application performance and service quality, including initial troubleshooting, identification of root causes, and issue resolution.
  • Incident and Problem Management: Coordinate the response to incident reports, ensuring relevant prioritization and detail to allow effective investigation, and understand and identify problems, analyzing and helping to identify the appropriate solution.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Technical Skills: Understanding of software development lifecycles, strong ability to understand context for code, the codebase, and its relation to business objectives, excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, growth mindset, and willingness to learn new skills, technologies, and frameworks.
  • Soft Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, flexibility, adaptability, and desire to learn new technologies, strong Unix skills (commands, shell scripting, Operative System), and strong Java skills (restful API knowledge, Java scripting).

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, but Comcast also considers applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience or who have extensive related professional experience. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of relevant work experience.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on location and experience.
