Job Summary

The Business Development Manager - Commercial Business will be responsible for planning and delivering revenue objectives in assigned areas through the implementation of project business strategies. This role will also involve coordinating public and private sector tenders and building specifications with architects and interiors, supported by the Specifications team.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Build a sales order pipeline by engaging with project owners, builders, architects, project management consultants, and hospitality consultants.
  2. Ensure timely collections from customers according to agreed payment terms.
  3. Coordinate with the Logistics team for timely material delivery and the Accounts team for collections updates and status.
  4. Collaborate with the Specifications team to develop the specification pipeline.
  5. Facilitate communication with the Specifications team to address customer technical queries and requirements.
  6. Identify key customer segments and develop local initiatives to increase business opportunities.
  7. Manage large tenders for public and private sector constructions from specification to final closing stages.
  8. Focus on converting quotations to purchase orders and winning projects.
  9. Prepare and present various business reports, such as sales forecasts, material forecasts, and collections overdue, on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis, as required.
  10. Work with internal teams, including Product Management, Marketing, and Specifications, to engage customers through events and trade fairs.
  11. Ensure proper site coordination for timely installation and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  1. Strong customer focus.
  2. Strong drive for high growth.
  3. Good relationship building and communication skills.
  4. Basic knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  5. Ability to make effective conversations with project owners, architects, and project management consultants.
  6. Functional understanding of project business in the building materials industry.
  7. Ability to travel extensively.

Qualifications

  1. Graduate Engineers, preferably in Civil or Mechanical streams.
  2. MBA in Sales and Marketing is an added advantage.
  3. Relevant experience of 7-12 years in the same industry.
