About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Background Investigation Specialist who will play a crucial role in our mission by conducting public record due diligence investigations on behalf of our clients. This individual will work closely with our team to perform in-depth research, verify identities, and analyze complex legal documents to provide accurate reports for our clients.

This position requires a strong background in the Due Diligence industry and is designed to foster career growth within the company. As a Background Investigation Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects, develop your skills, and contribute to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive public record due diligence investigations to identify potential risks and issues.
  • Verify identities and search for aliases through various third-party resources.
  • Analyze and summarize complex legal documents, including liens, judgments, bankruptcies, criminal records, complaints, and other recorded documents.
  • Research social media profiles, derogatory news, and general online presence to gather relevant information.
  • Prepare detailed, well-written reports for clients based on findings.
  • Maintain accurate and precise reporting while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Collaborate with our Customer Success team to ensure deliverables and timelines are achievable.
  • Work with external firms to retrieve documents, conduct court runner services, and perform additional research as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience in public record investigation, preferably in the Due Diligence industry.
  • Strong knowledge of FCRA Regulations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and PowerPoint.
  • Tech-savvy with excellent computer skills.
  • Able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information, including PII.
  • Familiarity with due diligence databases such as LexisNexis, Westlaw, CLEAR, and TLO.
  • Bilingualism is a plus but not required.
  • Degree in Criminal Justice, Political Science, International Studies, or related field.
