Cyber Security Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned cybersecurity expert to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in assessing and mitigating cyber threats, as well as a strong background in vulnerability management and incident response.

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Monitoring and assessing cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents affecting released medical devices.
  • Leading post-market security investigations and coordinating vulnerability response and remediation activities.
  • Performing risk assessments and impact analyses in alignment with FDA, ISO/IEC 81001-5-1, and NIST cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Collaborating with product teams to develop and deploy security patches and updates.
  • Maintaining and improving post-market surveillance processes for cybersecurity.
  • Supporting regulatory submissions and audits related to post-market cybersecurity.
  • Contributing to security incident response planning and execution.
  • Engaging with external researchers and coordinating responsible disclosure processes.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar or higher.
  • At least six years of general Cybersecurity experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
  • Three years of Product Security preferably in medical devices.
  • Three years of Vulnerability Management experience.
  • Three years of Cybersecurity Process Development.
  • Experience assessing and improving cybersecurity maturity using the NIST CSF Implementation Tiers.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with IT, business partners, and working with internal and external audits to assess security controls and compliance.
  • A Master's degree in an Information Technology field from an accredited institution.
  • Proven experience in evaluating and advancing organizational cybersecurity maturity aligned with NIST CSF Implementation Tiers.
  • Three years of Medical Device Post-Market Experience.
  • Familiarity with global healthcare data privacy and security regulations, including FDA, HIPAA, and GDPR.
  • Skills to deal with ambiguity, lead an organization with multiple urgent demands, and develop trust virtually and in person.
