Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team at Boost Tech. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in shaping our DevOps practices and ensuring the smooth operation of our cloud-based applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with development and test teams to improve the effectiveness of our dev processes
  • Participate in an out-of-hours emergency support rotation to ensure 24/7 application availability
  • Design and implement efficient DevOps tools and processes to improve application delivery and reduce downtime
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform
  • Implement and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins, Git, and Ansible
  • Work with microservices, deploying, maintaining, and monitoring Java web-based production applications using Docker containers
  • Debug production issues across services and technology stacks using Splunk and Cloudwatch
  • Experience with software build tools, scripting languages, and Linux administration

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in DevOps
  • Strong knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) suite, including EC2, ECS, Load Balancing, VPC, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, and IAM
  • Hands-on experience with container orchestration tools, including AWS ECS and AWS EKS
  • Good knowledge of creating and maintaining infrastructure as code using Terraform
  • Solid experience with CI/CD tools, including Jenkins, Git, and Ansible
  • Working experience with microservices, Docker containers, and Java web-based production applications
  • Strong knowledge of debugging production issues, application monitoring, and software build tools

Optional Skills:

  • Oracle/SQL database maintenance experience
  • Elastic Search
  • Serverless/container-based approach
  • Automated testing of infrastructure deployments
  • Experience with performance testing and JVM tuning
  • Experience in high-volume distributed eCommerce environments
  • Experience working closely with Agile development teams
  • Familiarity with load testing tools and processes
  • Experience with nginx, Tomcat, and Apache
  • Experience with Cloudflare
