Job Summary:

This role is responsible for the field sales of Cognex’s sensor/ID portfolio of products in a defined territory. The Sales Territory Engineer will work closely with the Territory Sales Manager to develop account strategies and tactics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet or exceed a defined sales quota at assigned or newly found accounts
  • Expand the base of business and develop new sales opportunities
  • Travel to customer manufacturing facilities to demonstrate Cognex products and review applications/issues
  • Assist at trade shows and other marketing events to generate qualified leads
  • Capture competitive data and continuously update CRM system

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of sales performance in automation or similar industry
  • Uses defined sales process to deliver desired results on a consistent basis
  • Action and result-oriented mindset
  • Ability to solve technical problems and learn new automation technology
  • Ability to work independently in field sales environment with limited overnight travel
