About the Role

The Fraud Risk Operations team aims to mitigate risk and improve trust and safety for various PhonePe products. You will be responsible for building processes and tools that impact millions of customers.

Your key areas of focus include operating effectively, continuously improving, communicating efficiently, and developing people.

Main Responsibilities
  • Prevent and detect potential fraud across all payment channels by reviewing customer accounts.
  • Analyze data to understand patterns and anti-patterns, determining risk activity ranging from fraud, AML, identity theft, KYC, and non-compliant activity per RBI.
  • Proactively identify fraud risks and assess the adequacy of controls to manage such risks, recommending enhanced or additional controls.
  • Collaborate with support areas such as operations, finance, settlements, risk analytics, compliance, and technology to maintain a high level of control.
  • Identify and follow up on anomalies/areas of concern proactively.
  • Monitor high-risk user and merchant activity to identify fraud patterns.
  • Contribute to creating fraud rules by providing analytical data to support decisions.
  • Maintain daily fraud alerts and take necessary action to protect customers.
  • Provide regular updates on new fraud trends to senior management.
  • Facilitate weekly calls with stakeholders to ensure information flow and deliverables are met to mitigate fraud.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in risk operations or fraud investigations or fraud risk analytics.
  • Proven experience across the domain of risk management and fraud.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels internally and externally.
  • Education qualification - Any graduate/PG.
  • Ability to work independently and liaise with other departments and coordinate with various stakeholders.
  • Added advantage if CFE certified.
  • Basic working knowledge of MS Office and SQL.
