About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Application Security Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of application security engineers and ensuring the overall security of our applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop Application Security Services: You will be responsible for building and implementing key application security services to ensure that security is integrated and prioritized at every phase of the application development cycle.
  • Security Assessment and Risk Management: Conduct security assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and risks in our applications. Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate identified risks and ensure that our applications meet the highest security standards.
  • Secure Development Lifecycle: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into the application development lifecycle. Provide guidance and support to ensure secure coding practices, secure infrastructure design, and adherence to industry best practices.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of application security engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure their professional growth and success.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Develop and implement application security strategies, policies, and procedures to protect Ciena's applications and sensitive data.
  • Cross-Functional Engagements: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and product management, to integrate security measures into the software development lifecycle.
  • Industry and Competitive Analysis: Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, technologies, and best practices, and proactively recommend improvements to enhance the overall security posture of our applications.
  • Security Training and Awareness: Work closely with internal stakeholders to provide security guidance, support, and training to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Application Security Consulting: Act as a subject matter expert on application security matters, providing technical expertise and guidance to the broader organization.
  • Security Communication: Foster a culture of security awareness and accountability throughout the organization.

About You:

  • Leadership Experience: We are looking for a proven leader with experience in managing a team of application security engineers.
  • Technical Expertise: You must have a strong understanding of application security principles and practices, as well as experience with various IT and computer systems.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are essential for this role, as you will need to work closely with cross-functional teams and communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills are necessary to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
  • Agility: You must be able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines.

Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
