Job Description

As a Principal Data Release Train Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving the overall delivery performance of our Data & AI platform products. Reporting to the Director, Architecture, Platform & DevOps, you will work with Business Leaders, Data & AI Product Management, Third Parties, and other key roles to own the planning and coordination of the Architecture, Platform & DevOps Data & AI portfolio.

You will lead quarterly planning events, track week-to-week delivery progress, and drive improvements in Product Team ways-of-working to optimize the release of features and ultimately the flow of value. Additionally, you will work cross-functionally with partners groups to ensure risks and dependencies are well managed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Strategy & Roadmap:
    • Collaborate with Product Owners and Product Managers to craft a product strategy and define a feature backlog.
    • Prioritize features and functionalities based on business value and customer needs.
  • Leading Planning & Coordination:
    • Run quarterly PI planning process and track progress of committed deliverables and performance against key metrics.
    • Lead and drive portfolio-level strategic initiatives such as strategic partner reviews and operating model design & transformations.
  • Demand & Value Management:
    • Oversee key portfolio-wide processes including demand and value management.
    • Drive continuous improvement in the Portfolio accelerating delivery of features and flow of value using Agile, Lean, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Team Communication & Stakeholder Management:
    • Standardize ways-of-working across teams to create consistent patterns, drive synergies, and ensure clear roles & responsibilities, repeatable processes, and reusable templates.
    • Facilitate communication between delivery groups within Portfolio and with dependent teams.
    • Provide guidance, direction, and coaching to teams to improve Agile ways-of-working and lean thinking.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A highly motivated, collaborative individual with technology experience, exceptional communication skills, and proven experience working with diverse teams of technical architects, business users, and technology teams on all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • 10 to 14 years of overall experience in IT.
  • Experience across all phases of software development including design, configuration, testing, debugging, implementation, and support of large-scale, business-centric, and process-based applications.
  • Proven capability to drive continuous improvement in Product Management & Agile ways-of-working through maturity assessment, coaching, customer-centric design, Communities of Practice, etc.
  • Expertise in demand intake, planning, and management, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and available capability/capacity.
  • Ability to communicate and engage effectively with business and technical stakeholders across different organizational levels.
  • Ability to effectively translate requirements for data and analytics as part of effort assessment and estimation for new demand.
  • Awareness of regulatory expectations regarding data integrity and use of software for regulated business processes.
  • Ability to effectively manage work in tools such as Aha, JIRA, and ADO.
  • Required/ preferred certifications: SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) Certification, Certified Scaled Agile Program Consultant (SPC), Experience in managing Data & AI products, projects, and programs.
