Key Responsibilities:

  • Process corporate action related transactions and processes, including dividend payments, corporate action announcements, and e-voting instructions, for foreign institutions and domestic clients.
  • Provide backup for other officers in the section by learning their desk jobs to ensure rotation and continuous process movement.
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with external parties, including companies, registrars, market participants, vendors, and internal units within DCC.
  • Adhere to Service Level Agreements and Operational Memoranda committed to clients, external parties, and internal units.
  • Evaluate situations that require process steps to be diverted from the normal process.
  • Accurately check and authorize corporate action related transactions, processing announcements, and client instructions for completeness, based on set processes and market practices.
  • Contribute to the improvement of productivity of self and team.
  • Maintain a good relationship with internal customers, including the Client Service team, other units within DCC, and the bank, ensuring internal deadlines are met to meet the overall objective of providing excellent service to clients.
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy, and maintain awareness of operational risk and minimize its likelihood.

Requirements:

  • Graduate with around 3 to 4 years of experience in securities market back office operations.
  • Capital Market/Securities Market knowledge is preferable and an added advantage.
  • Excellent working knowledge required of MS Office applications/software, especially MS Excel and Word.
  • Strong customer and service orientation, attention to detail, and accuracy, and ability to work in a pressurized environment.
  • Good team player - dedicated approach to teamwork and ability to contribute to team effort.
  • Ability to handle tasks independently, multi-task, good planning, organizing skills, time management skills, and a 'can do' attitude.
