About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as a Technical Consultant, App Dev. As a key member of our Professional Services team, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and deploying solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in project teams to deploy solutions across open-source and cloud technologies.
  • Architect and design open-source and cloud-related technology solutions, addressing challenges such as storage, messaging, streaming, analysis, scalability, development operations, and security.
  • Support pre-sales Professional Services teams by providing technical expertise on open-source and cloud technologies to Ahead and our customers.
  • Contribute to customer requirements and design to achieve business goals, participating in scoping, planning, implementing, testing, and methodology.
  • Participate in development and testing activities in customer engagements with limited supervision.
  • Design complex solutions and create written deliverables.
  • Participate in client workshops, demos, and working sessions.
  • Influence team members and external customers regarding policies, best practices, and procedures.
  • Support senior team members and project leaders.
  • Maintain certifications with associated qualifications.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of project collateral.
  • Communicate with external customers, involving moderately complex negotiation and explanation of deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Customer-facing role for a minimum of 3+ years.
  • 3+ years of experience designing, securing, and deploying large-scale applications and solutions.
  • Awareness of one of the major cloud vendor environments (development, access, migration).
  • Proven skills in a given area (measured by certification/approved training completion/proven abilities).
  • Strong development skills in open-source and cloud technologies.
  • Moderate skills integrating third-party tools and solutions.
  • Experience in at least one development language (e.g., Java, Python, etc.).
  • Experience in at least one messaging protocol (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS, etc.).
  • Effective communication and presentation skills for delivery, sales, and customer teams.
  • Strong project and situational awareness.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Self-starter.

Expectations

  • Seasoned professional individual contributor.
  • Perform core project work with limited supervision.
  • Provide data and situational analysis and in-depth evaluation for individual technologies (e.g., messaging, data flow, transformation, and storage, cloud platforms, and their respective capabilities).
  • Author and coordinate technical documentation.
  • Coordinate cross-team and practice initiatives as necessary to support Professional Services.
  • Ability to understand open-source and cloud use-cases and recommend standard design patterns commonly used in such solutions (best practices).
  • Lead written deliverable creation within their area of expertise and drive projects to successful completion.
  • Strong working knowledge to own components of a complex solution.
  • Clearly articulate the scope of the project and work they are tasked to perform.
  • Articulate how their work relates to the business objectives for the project.
  • Proactively assist project management with concerns and solutions concerning project support and potential overruns.
  • Initiate and participate in authoring PCR requests when additional work is being requested.
  • Identify client requests that are out of scope and escalate to the project manager or sales team.
