Job Title: Database Management Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced database management professional to join our IT department. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and efficient databases.

Responsibilities
  • Manage production databases servers, ensuring security, deployment, maintenance, and performance monitoring.
  • Set up replication, mirroring, and high availability across hybrid environments as required.
  • Design and implement new installations on cloud platforms including Azure and AWS.
  • Deploy and maintain on-premise installations of SQL Server on Linux/MySQL.
  • Ensure database security and protection against potential threats.
  • Collaborate with development teams on data storage and query design/optimization.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of essential applications.
  • Demonstrate expertise and provide valuable input throughout the development lifecycle.
Required Skills
  • SQL Server management experience on hybrid environments.
  • MySQL Backup, Replication, Clustering, Log shipping experience on Linux/Windows.
  • Cloud environment experience, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Familiarity with multi-tier application design architecture.
  • Proficient in using issue tracking tools like Jira.
  • Strong understanding of web-based applications and technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as SQL Server DBA and MySQL DBA.
  • Ubuntu Linux knowledge preferred.
