This role will involve collaborating with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, engaging with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical requirements, and analyzing and interpreting EHR data to ensure accurate integration and customization within healthcare systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document detailed business requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals and healthcare IT standards.
* Engage with cross-functional teams, including developers, healthcare professionals, and management, to translate business needs into technical requirements.
* Analyze and interpret EHR data (e.g., Cerner, Epic) to ensure accurate integration and customization within healthcare systems.
* Develop and present clear and concise documentation, including business process flows, use cases, functional specifications, and testing scripts.
* Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of testing activities, including user acceptance testing (UAT), to ensure solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.
* Facilitate regular stakeholder meetings, project updates, and status presentations to ensure transparent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
* Collaborate with project managers to track timelines and deliverables, ensuring adherence to project scope and deadlines.
* Participate in software development lifecycle (SDLC) activities and ensure alignment with regulatory and compliance standards in healthcare IT.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide recommendations for optimizations.
Qualifications:
* 4 years of proven experience as a Business Analyst in Healthcare IT, at least last 2 years with hands-on knowledge of EHR systems (e.g., Cerner, Epic).
* Strong understanding of healthcare data standards and workflows, including HL7, FHIR, and HIPAA compliance.
* Proficiency in requirement gathering, documentation, process mapping, and data analysis.
* Familiarity with software development processes and methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches.
* Strong project management skills, with experience managing timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, from end-users to senior executives.
* Keen attention to detail and analytical mindset to identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Education and Certifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Health Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
* Certification in Business Analysis or Project Management (e.g., PMP) is preferred.
* Familiarity with Epic and/or Cerner certification is a plus.
Desired Skills:
* Experience working with healthcare integration engines and data migration projects.
* Knowledge of clinical workflows and healthcare operations.
