Position Overview

The Sales Operations Manager plays a critical role in the support, analysis, and optimization of the sales department's performance. This individual ensures the sales team is operating efficiently and effectively by managing data, systems, processes, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Performance Analysis & Reporting:
    • Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting reports and dashboards to sales leadership.
    • Analyze sales data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for growth or improvement.
    • Measure sales productivity and KPIs (e.g., pipeline health, win rates, customer acquisition cost).
    • Track and report on key sales metrics, including revenue, pipeline health, and lead conversion rates.
  • Process Optimization:
    • Continuously evaluate and improve sales processes, systems, and tools to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Implement best practices across the sales organization to optimize sales cycles and closing rates.
    • Work with cross-functional teams (marketing, customer success, finance) to streamline workflows and eliminate bottlenecks in the sales process.
  • Sales Tools & CRM Management:
    • Administer and optimize the use of (CRM) tools (e.g., HubSpot) to ensure accurate tracking of sales activities and customer data.
    • Ensure CRM data integrity and work with the sales team to maintain clean and up-to-date records.
    • Develop and deliver training to the sales team on sales tools and best practices.
  • Sales Planning & Strategy:
    • Support the sales leadership in territory planning, quota setting, and territory management.
    • Assist with sales strategy development and alignment of sales objectives with business goals.
    • Evaluate and monitor territory performance and provide insights to improve territory management and quota attainment.
  • Research & Market Trends:
    • Research new trends in marketing and emerging industry practices to identify potential opportunities for business growth.
    • Stay updated on market developments, competitor strategies, and innovations that could impact the sales landscape.
    • Proactively seek and evaluate new business opportunities and provide a list of target accounts for the sales team, including partnerships, new markets, or product/service innovations that align with company goals.
  • Compensation & Incentive Programs:
    • Design and manage sales compensation plans and commission structures to align with sales objectives and drive desired behaviors.
    • Ensure timely and accurate calculation and distribution of sales commissions and bonuses.
    • Regularly review and adjust compensation models to stay competitive and fair.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
    • Work closely with founders to align sales operations efforts with business priorities.
    • Collaborate with marketing, finance, and customer success teams to drive cohesive strategies and optimize the end-to-end sales process.
    • Serve as a liaison between the sales team and other departments for process improvements and systems integrations.
Qualifications
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • 2-3+ years of experience in sales operations, business operations, or a similar analytical role.
    • Proven experience working with CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot).
    • Experience in sales forecasting, quota management, and sales process optimization.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in using data to drive business decisions.
    • Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and other data analysis tools.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Familiarity with sales compensation and incentive design is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience:
    • Experience in B2B sales environments, especially Devtool/SaaS or technology companies.
    • Advanced knowledge of sales analytics tools and platforms
    • Experience managing projects related to sales process improvements or systems implementations.
