Investigator Position Overview

The role involves conducting field investigations in focus areas, including animal experimentation, food, clothing, entertainment, and labour-related environmental and human health hazards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct short- and long-term investigations, including covert operations.
  • Analyse technical papers, watch videos, and employ various means to research animal protection laws and issues.
  • Travel to locations for assignments, staying for several weeks or months at a time if required.
  • Use various methods to visit industries that use animals, obtain documents, and work with trusted contacts.
  • Document conditions and use of animals through photography and videography, adhering to standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Submit detailed daily log notes, view and transcribe videos, and prepare reports of findings.
  • Collaborate with experts and volunteers to assess evidence and investigation findings.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience in investigative journalism or a related field is preferred.
  • Basic veterinary knowledge or experience is beneficial.
  • Fluency in English and Hindi is necessary, with proficiency in other Indian languages a plus.
  • Proven research, communication, and organisational skills are essential.
