Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled professional to manage the recording and reporting of indirect tax. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting, particularly with indirect tax and US tax.

This role involves preparing accruals, return filings, and responding to queries from stakeholders. Additionally, you will be responsible for analyzing resale certificates for accuracy and completeness, processing tax exemption requests, and educating internal departments on tax exempt status requirements.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of tax exemption requirements, state and local rules, and regulations. They will also possess excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and analytical reasoning.

Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare Indirect Tax Accruals
  2. Prepare Indirect Tax Return Filings
  3. Respond to Internal and External Queries from Stakeholders, Tax Authorities, Vendors, Customers, AR team, AP Team
  4. Analyze resale and exemption certificates for accuracy, credibility, applicability and completeness and update customer account or order accordingly
  5. Process tax exemption requests within a specified time frame
  6. Educate internal departments as to the proper documentation required to meet tax exempt status requirements
  7. Accurately calculate, document, and authorize tax credits for sales taxes
  8. Maintain effective, responsive, and courteous communication with all customers
  9. Respond to questions from external customers about exemption certificates and tax billing issues
  10. Resolve tax related credit disputes prompted by customer non-payment of sales tax resulting from incomplete or inaccurate exemption certificates
  11. Learn in-depth state and local rules and regulations to better interpret tax certificates
  12. Demonstrate an understanding of tax exemption requirements for various levels of sales taxes and customer exemption types
