Job Title: Financial Control Manager – Finance

Band- C1

Job Location- Sholinganallur, Chennai

Work Mode- 5 Days WFO

Shift- 10-7:30PM


Job Purpose

Financial control & Compliance

Key Responsibilities

Functional Responsibilities

•Responsible for overseeing the accuracy and integrity of the company’s balance sheet.

•Ensure that all balance sheet accounts are substantiated, reconciled, and controlled in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

•To work closely with various departments to ensure financial data is accurate and reliable, supporting the overall financial health of the organization.

•Lead the balance sheet substantiation process, ensuring all accounts are reconciled and discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.

•Develop and implement policies and procedures for balance sheet substantiation and control.

•Coordinate with various departments to gather necessary information for account reconciliations.

•Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the finance team.

•Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.

•Prepare and present reports on balance sheet substantiation to senior management.

•Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of balance sheet controls.

•Establish and maintain proper segregation of duties to prevent conflicts of interest and enhance the integrity of financial processes.

•Define clear procedures for financial authorizations, ensuring proper approvals are obtained for transactions in accordance with established guidelines.

•Assess and manage financial risks by identifying potential threats, evaluating their impact, and implementing strategies to mitigate or control them.

•Regularly monitor financial activities, generate relevant reports and communicate findings to management, highlighting areas of concern or improvement.

•Leverage technology tools to enhance financial controls, such as implementing automated monitoring process and advanced analytics for risk assessment.

•Develop and maintain protocols for responding to financial irregularities, including investigations, corrective actions, and reporting to appropriate stakeholders.

•Provide guidance and training to finance team members on balance sheet substantiation and control processes.

•Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and reviews.

•Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to balance sheet substantiation.


Core Responsibilities

•Strengthen finance governance and contribute to accurate financial reporting.

•Ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal policies, regularly reviewing and updating procedures to meet changing requirements.

•Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.

•Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to senior management.

•Design, implement and enhance internal control frameworks to safeguard financial integrity and minimize risks.

•Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential financial vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate them.

•Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all financial processes and controls.

•Prepare detailed reports on balance sheet substantiation activities for senior management.

•Oversee financial transactions, analyzing patterns and anomalies to detect and prevent fraudulent activities.

•Collaborate with accounting teams to validate financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

•Facilitate internal and external audits by maintaining organized financial records, responding to audit inquiries, and implementing recommended improvements.

•Enforce and communicate financial control policies throughout the organization, providing training when necessary.

•Regularly assess and enhance finance control processes, keeping abreast of industry best practices and technological advancements.


Education- Charted Accountant

Certification requirement: FRM

Knowledge of IFRS, UAE laws and regulations

Minimum of 10-15 years of hands-on experience in a large business (turnover 500m +)

•Knowledge of Banking systems and products

•Knowledge of Power BI / Automation and presentation skills
