We are seeking a talented individual to join our investment team at Mercer. This role will be based in Mumbai. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Senior Manager – Investments
Fixed Income Management
We will count on you to:
- Support the Portfolio Management Team in managing the discretionary fixed income portfolios for EMEA clients, including manager selection, portfolio construction and ongoing oversight
- Develop a deep and thorough understanding of portfolios and sub investment managers by summarizing Mercer manager and strategic research output and participating in due diligence meetings with sub-IMs
- Oversee maintenance and evolvement of the team’s financial markets data monitoring framework (databank and datastream)
- Analyse performance and risk metrics across portfolios and underlying managers utilising a combination of in house tools (eVestment, MSCI Barra, Factset) and adhoc analysis
- Maintain, update, enhance and document portfolio and risk management processes e.g. ensuring fund profiles and manager Portfolio Inclusion Notes remain current
- Assist with the team’s responsibilities to the broader business regarding portfolio performance and positioning reporting including monitoring monthly sub-IM performance in line with expectations and assisting the client and investment specialist teams with performance narratives where required
- Oversee the collection of sub-IM reporting (monthly and quarterly) and participate in quarterly meetings with sub-IMs, including maintaining quarterly update notes
- Build, maintain and encourage close working relationships with the broader internal portfolio management, investment, operations and manager research teams
- Support business development and client management initiatives including adhoc data requests with respect to individual Fund’s / sub-IMs
What you need to have:
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Initiative and drive
- Analytical mind-set and highly numerate
- Experience using portfolio oversight tools including eVestment and/or FactSet
- Critical thinking, naturally curious and a problem-solver, with a-get-involved attitude
- Ability to work flexibly, independently and collaboratively as part of a team
