Job Title: Privacy and Legal Compliance SpecialistRole Overview:The role of Privacy and Legal Compliance Specialist involves overseeing the implementation and management of privacy policies and procedures to ensure compliance with global data protection laws.As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing data privacy issues and risks across our operations. This includes developing and implementing campus-wide privacy compliance strategies, conducting regular audits, and ensuring robust processes for handling personal data.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement campus-wide privacy compliance strategies in accordance with global data protection laws.Conduct regular audits to identify risks, recommend remediation measures, and track progress.Coordinate with operational teams to ensure compliant handling of personal data and provide legal and strategic advice on privacy issues.Draft, review, and update privacy policies, procedures, and notices tailored for educational settings.Review and negotiate customer and vendor contracts to ensure compliance with data protection regulations.Conduct privacy impact assessments to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.Organize and deliver ongoing privacy awareness training for employees and faculty members.Respond to data subject requests and complaints concerning data privacy.Monitor regulatory updates and sector trends to ensure prompt adoption of necessary operational changes.Support incident management, data breach response, and communication with regulatory authorities.Monitor developments in global regulations, legislature, and privacy best practices, and advise on the need for changes within the organization.Qualifications:Minimum 4 years of experience in privacy or compliance, preferably in audit and operations.Familiarity with global data protection laws and regulations.Law degree (LL.B.) from a recognized university.CIPP/CIPM certification (or equivalent) preferred.
