Position Title: Dy MANAGER (MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING – VEHICLE ASSEMBLY)


Reporting to

Role: Dy Manager - Manufacturing Engineering (Vehicle Assembly)

Grade: Dy Manager/ Manager

Location: Pune, India


PREAMBLE: This position is for an Industrial Engineer cum Manufacturing Engineering to coordinate and facilitate activities related to setup of new manufacturing facility that will include Setup of complete Vehicle Assembly line. The main objective for this position is to Plans sequence of Vehicle Assembly along with installation, and other manufacturing operations. Candidate will be Responsible for implementation of production processes and procedures, leading productivity improvements with project-based activities, including new product introduction and manufacturing cell design to reduce waste, improve quality and safety, and reduce operating costs. Work on many phases or sub-tasks of projects or entire projects of moderate complexity, with results impacting on project completion. Work under general supervision, reviewed at project milestones and/or on completion by Senior Management.


Required Education/Experience:


-Diploma/ B. Tech Mechanical / Industrial Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent profession degree with 9-10 Years of Industrial experience especially with Automotive OEM/Tier-1(Minimum 2-3 Year worked in Green Field & Brown Field project related to an automotive industry (OEM)

-Exposure to Plant Civil / Electrical / Plumbing & Utility Designs will be an added advantage.

-Fluency in English is required & candidate must be willing to travel across Africa/Middle East/India.


Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

-Proficiency in using 2D & 3D software like Auto-Cad / Solid works / Catia/UG/Pro-E etc.

-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/World/Power point & MS Visio is required.

-Exposure to the Automotive Industry/OEM, especially 2-Wheeler Manufacturing specialized in 2 Wheeler vehicle Assembly operation (Equipment/Process/Tooling)


Job Responsibilities:

· Preparing overall Plant Layout after including Department requirements that includes shop-floor layout (2-Wheeler Assembly lines, along with Fixture Designs & tooling for Assembly tasks.

· Preparing RFQ documents after including detailed machine specification sheet related to Assembly conveyor/Jigs/Tools/Fixtures/EIN punching/ Roll Test & Testing equipment’s. Doing technical comparisons among different options.

· Analyse production specifications and plant capacity data and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.

· Should be able to study Engineering drawings of the product. Selection of Manufacturing process followed up by the Machine / Tooling / Jig or Fixture requirements related to 2-wheeler assembly.

· Design new systems and processes and provide facilities & methods to ensure the cost-effective integration of new products or for the improvement of existing ones into manufacturing operations.

· Prepares equipment specification for lists of required materials, tools, and equipment.

· Ensure all product and system requirements are considered from the initial product conception to the finished result.

· Establish process flow, Manufacturing layout, P-FMEA and assembly concept in cooperation with the manufacturing plant and central production planning.

Budget and timing responsible for planned assembly lines

· Generating production documentation such as Assembly instructions / SOP’s / PFMEA & Control Plan.

· Reduce variability in manufacturing by providing standard work methods and work instructions

· Ensure product and process quality meets specifications required

· Support the tender process for equipment to ensure the best quality for best price

· Oversee installation of machinery and equipment.

· Maintain statistical and financial records.

· Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment layout

· Support and lead continuous improvement, problem solving and process improvement activities

· Carry out FMEAs, (Failure Mode Effects Analysis) process documentation and implement improvements

· Conduct benchmarking studies to determine best practices/designs and future trends

· Plan projects or subtasks so they may be tracked and presented.
