Job Summary

The Restaurant General Manager (GM) is responsible for leading all aspects of operations at one of Bastian Hospitality's luxury fine dining outlets. This role demands a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of luxury service standards, fine dining operations, and an unwavering commitment to delivering an exceptional guest experience. The GM will oversee daily operations, staff management, guest satisfaction, and financial performance, ensuring that the restaurant maintains its reputation as a premier luxury dining destination.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service Excellence
Create an outstanding dining experience by maintaining the highest service standards, ensuring every guest receives personalized and attentive service.
Foster a luxury atmosphere in the restaurant by upholding attention to detail in every aspect of the dining experience, from ambiance to service style.
Respond promptly and effectively to guest inquiries, requests, and feedback, turning any issues into opportunities to enhance the brand experience.
Operations & Service Standards
Oversee all aspects of the restaurant's daily operations, ensuring adherence to brand standards, health, and safety regulations.
Ensure the restaurant is immaculately maintained, including decor, cleanliness, and overall ambiance, reflecting the high-end standards of the brand.
Collaborate with the culinary and bar teams to ensure that food and beverage quality consistently exceed guest expectations.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and inspire the restaurant staff, from front-of-house to kitchen teams, to deliver exceptional service and maintain a positive work culture.
Recruit, train, and manage staff to ensure they embody the luxury brand's values and service ethos.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and create development opportunities to promote talent within the organization.
Financial Management
Drive the restaurant's profitability by managing budgets, controlling costs, and optimizing revenue through effective pricing and upselling strategies.
Oversee P&L, forecasting, and financial reporting, working closely with the finance team to analyze and improve the restaurant's financial performance.
Ensure efficient inventory and stock management, minimizing wastage while ensuring product quality.
Marketing & Brand Promotion
Partner with the marketing team to implement promotional events, guest loyalty programs, and brand-building initiatives that drive traffic and enhance guest loyalty.
Build and maintain relationships with high-profile clientele, creating memorable guest experiences that promote word-of-mouth and repeat visits.
Represent the brand at industry events and collaborate with influencers and press to raise the restaurant's profile.
Compliance & Health Standards
Ensure strict compliance with food safety, health, and sanitation standards in alignment with both local regulations and luxury brand guidelines.
Conduct regular audits and staff training to uphold safety and hygiene standards.
Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes, implementing any necessary adjustments to maintain the restaurant's compliance and competitive edge.
Operational Reporting & Analytics
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as guest satisfaction scores, revenue per cover, and staff productivity to identify areas for improvement.
Regularly report on operational and financial metrics to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for optimizing performance.
Use guest feedback, industry trends, and competitive insights to drive continuous improvement in service quality and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years in high-end restaurant management, with at least 3 years in a General Manager or similar leadership role in a fine dining or luxury setting.
Proven track record of success in delivering luxury guest experiences and achieving financial targets in high-end dining.
Strong understanding of fine dining operations, wine knowledge, and food pairing principles.
Experience in multi-departmental leadership with exceptional interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills.
Proficient in POS systems, reservations management software, and other relevant technologies.
